My name is Amanda and I'm a Software Engineer located in Spokane, Washington.
I specialize in Front-End Development but I have a lot of experience in Back-End as well.
I'm well known by Designers for having an eye for matching designs with precision.
To list a few of my skills...
Laravel, PHP, mySQL, CSS/Sass, jQuery, API, and WordPress.
I was hired to work with HR to update and maintain the Employee portal named YETI. I created areas such as timesheets, company news feeds (like Facebook), Org Chart and a surveys area that runs a lot like Survey Monkey. YETI is built using Laravel and mySQL.
Once YETI was at a good point, I transfered over to another dev team who works on the application that keeps the business going and that's the inventory management system. Also built using Laravel, the system handles all shipments and shipment plans that buyers send to marketplaces like Amazon as well to our ERP system Netsuite.
Before TWEC and etailz merged into Kaspien, I built the customed WordPress themes using the boilerplate Underscore for both websites. It used Sass and webmix to compile all the Sass and JavaScript. TWEC had an additional customed feature that was a WordPress plugin that I developed. This plugin created several background crons that reached out and received JSON data from APIs about NASDAQ updates.
When the companies merged into Kaspien, the theme got updated again with new a brand new look and feel. The NASDAQ plugin also got moved over as well.
In May 2020, I became AWS Cloud certified.
PHP, mySQL, CSS, and Concrete5.
I created custom themes based on designs given to me by the Graphic Designers. The themes were used in the CMS Concrete5. Not only did I create the sites, I trained the clients on how to use their new sites.
Another part of the job was creating email marketing templates for clients to use with Rainmaker's email system.
Adobe Photoshop, HTML, CSS
I started at Mountain Gear on the creative side. I photo manipulated product images for the website and catalog. Eventually, my job expanded to coding the marketing emails that got sent out to customers.
A few years in, Mountain Gear was in need of a new website and they realized they had a Front End Developer in house. I was tasked with creating all the templates for their new e-commerce website.
Using the boilerplate WordPress theme, Underscore, I developed a theme based on design templates given to me by the Graphic Designers. This required a very customized menu to meet Marketing's requirement. This website is hosted on an AWS EC2 server using Linux.
Kaspien is a publicly traded company and has ever changing data on NASDAQ. One of the requirements of the new site is that we have the most current data shown. I created a customed WordPress plugin that runs on a Cron schedule to fetch updates via an JSON API that is hosted by a third party.
Updating and maintaining YETI is what I was first hired at Kaspien to do. I worked with HR to create new areas such as PTO Calendar, an area for hourly employees to fill in and submit timesheets, company news feed (like Facebook), and an area for managers and HR to create customed surveys to send out to employees.
YETI is an internal application at Kaspien and is hosted on a Linux box.
